Ruger wins the NVA National Field Championship, and then wins the VCA National Gun Dog Championship for the 3rd time
Ruger won the National Vizsla Association National Championship held at Grovespring Missouri. The NVA National is a horseback trial ran under American Field rules. He ran a large forward course with 5 quality finds, and 2 backs. He held his lines well and was rewarded. The 1 hour Championship tests the stamina and endurance of the competitors. This years Championship brought 36 Qualified dogs to the line. Ruger won the VCA National Gun Dog Championship for the 3rd time. This makes Ruger the only Vizsla to ever win the National Gun Dog Championship 3 times. This also broke the record and is the only Vizsla the win 4 Vizsla Club of America National titles. Ruger was handled off horseback for the NVA National Championship. One week later he was handled on foot for the VCA NGDC. This shows the versatility of Ruger and our breed in general. At the NGDC Ruger handled multiple birds and a tough backing situation. birds flew into the line he was standing while the other dog stole point. He handled the relocation beautifully after being told the first bird didn't count because it was probably the bird that flew into the line. He made a tough retrieve after the gunners had to spin 3/4 of a turn while the bird flew past the gallery and was finally shot. He handled all his birdwork flawlessly and finished as strong as he started. We would like to thank our scout Brian Gingrich of BG Gundogs for his help in both of these Championships. Rigby finishes his AFC FC AFC Crimson's Lord Rigby of Linden JH At the VCOI trial Rigby wins his 2nd Amateur Gun Dog 4 Point Major Retrieving stake to complete his Amateur Field Championship. He ran a hard charging forward course.
